James Marsden, Nick Frost in Negotiations to Join Vince Vaughn in “Business Trip”
James Marsden and Nick Frost are both in negotiations to join the cast of “Business Trip,” individuals with knowledge of the deal confirm to TheWrap.
The upcoming comedy stars Vince Vaughn and Dave Franco. Vaughn plays an American businessman whose trip to Europe is upended and devolves into amusing madness. Marsden and Frost would both take supporting roles.
Ken Scott will direct the film for New Regency, which plans to release it next year. Scott just directed Vaughn in “Delivery Man,” a DreamWorks comedy due out later this year.
The UTA-repped Frost is best known stateside as the British funnyman from The Cornetto Trilogy, the series of films Frost made with Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright. That began with “Shaun of the Dead” and concludes this summer with “The World’s End.”
He just wrapped “Cuban Fury,” James Griffiths’ film starring Rashida Jones and Chris O’Dowd. Frost is also represnted by Think Tank Management, the UK’s Hamilton Hodell and lawyer Jodi Peikoff.
The WME-repped Marsden has had a busy year. He had supporting roles in two hit films that opened this August, Baltasar Kormakur’s “2 Guns” and “Lee Daniels The Butler,” in which he played President John F. Kennedy.
Marsden also has another movie coming out later this year, the sequel to “Anchorman,” has finished production on two 2014 releases — “The Loft” and “Walk of Shame” — and is currently filming “Welcome to Me.” He’s starring in the latter alongside Kristen Wiig. He’s also represented by Sean Elliott at Authentic Management.
