James Marsden has signed on to star opposite Elizabeth Banks in Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment’s Walk of Shame.

Steven Brill will direct the comedy from a screenplay he wrote.

The story centers on a high-strung news anchor who, after a wild night out, finds herself locked out on the street with no phone, money, ID or car and embarks on a series of misadventures as she finds her way to the most important job interview of her life.

A story of friendship, Robot & Frank is a charming movie with a great cast, so it’s a surprise that Sony has made it available only on DVD, with no Blu-ray.

The film stars Frank Langella (All Good Things) as, well, Frank, an ex-jewel thief who lives alone away from his two grown children (Armeggedon‘s Liv Tyler and Straw Dogs‘ James Marsden). Worried about his father’s wellfare, Marsden gives Frank a robot caretaker. At first, Frank resists his new roommate, but when he discovers the robot has some unique talents, Frank softens and the two begin to be friends. Until the law comes after them…

Susan Sarandon (Thelma & Louise) also stars in the movie, as well as Jeremy Sisto (TV’s Suburgatory) and the voice of Peter Sarsgaard (An Education) as the robot.

The 20th Century Fox superhero sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past is turning into an X-Men reunion, with Bryan Singer set to direct and Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen already confirmed to return along with Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman.

Today, we have an intriguing report that X-Men stars Halle Berry (Storm) and James Marsden (Cyclops) are also being sought to return for this sequel to last year’s X-Men: First Class.

It isn’t clear if 20th Century Fox has issued formal offers to the actors, or any of the other X-Men stars. It isn’t known if others such as Anna Paquin (Rogue) are being sought to reprise their roles, but there is said to be a lot of “willingness to participate” because of director Bryan Singer returning to the helm. The X-Men stars will reportedly appear in scenes that show a dystopic, alternate future, with Kitty Pryde playing a major role in the action.

James Marsden reveals he’s not actually a Barry Manilow fan, saying his “famous actor friend” is the culprit: “He likes to go into other people’s bios and add things.”

Onstage during the Napa Valley Film Festival on Nov. 9, in Yountville, Calif., Billy Bush asked James Marsden what roles the actor had turned down — Marsden claimed he wasn’t in a position to do so — and why he’s such a big Barry Manilow fan.

Marsden laughed and said he’s constantly asked this about the singer but that it’s just not true. The Access Hollywood host protested that he got it from a presumably reliable source: the actor’s IMDb bio.
