Is there a plus or a minus side to being closely identified with the X–Men franchise? A typecast point where you’d say “I don’t want to be the guy who’s in all the X–Men movies”?

James Marsden: I would never say I don’t want to be the guy from the X–Men movies, because my longevity, and the opportunities I’ve gotten in this business, are largely due to being cast in those movies. It was something that certainly put me on the map. As well as being financially lucrative, they also were really well–made movies and were reviewed really well.

James Marsden is making his way through the Emmy-nominated comedy series.

The actor, who guest starred last season on Emmy winner Modern Family, has booked a multiepisode role on NBC’s 30 Rock, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Details on Marsden’s role are being kept under wraps but he’ll stick around for six episodes of the Tina Fey comedy.

Who says getting divorced means you can’t be friends?

One day after news broke that James Marsden’s wife, Lisa Linde, had filed for divorce, the pair stepped out in Studio City, Calif., with their son Jack, 10, looking like the “great friends” their rep told PEOPLE that the former spouses intend to be.

The X-Men and 27 Dresses star, 38, and Linde, 39, were married for 11 years and also have a 6-year-old daughter, Mary. Linde cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce filing.

I was really shocked when I read this, but it’s true that Lisa Linde has filed for a divorce. TMZ.com has confirmed it.

“X-Men” star James Marsden’s wife has filed for divorce, TMZ has learned.

Lisa Linde cited irreconcilable differences. She’s seeking spousal support and joint legal and physical custody.

A rep for James tells TMZ, “This was a mutual decision. They are committed to raising their kids together and remain great friends.”
