He’s been an X-man, an Anchorman, and the tossed-aside-for-the-new-guy boyfriend in basically every romantic movie since “The Notebook.” Now, James Marsden is embarking on his greatest adventure yet: Exploring the wilderness alongside Bear Grylls.

“I’ve never done this before in my life,” warns the blue-eyed heartthrob in Zap2it’s exclusive sneak peek, as he looks down a massive mountain range that he’s about to descend.

“I think you’ll be good,” assures Grylls. “It’s the final big push.”

With all due respect to this week’s guest, “James Marsden Wears Gray Pants And Black High-Top Sneakers” is more about Comedy Bang! Bang! nurturing the on-screen connection between Scott Aukerman and Kid Cudi than providing a platform for that sadly neglected slice of the Hollywood community, the handsome, affable, steadily employed leading man.

Reggie Watts left some big foot grooves to fill, and Kid Cudi’s doing it ably. Following the self-conscious conflict and reconciliation of Cudi’s introduction, the show is building between them the same flexible relationship it manufactured, week by week, for Scott and Reggie: best friends, mortal enemies, whatever.

This idea is made literal in the preview of Scott and Cudi’s upcoming “pretty gritty” feature film. After a supply run in the zombie-devastated wasteland, Scott (boasting a broad Southern accent) quizzes Cudi about the foraging team’s survival rate, and each time, Cudi replies with only a silent shake of his head. “Where’s Jane?” No. “What about Doug?” No.

Here’s a sneak peek of tomorrow’s episode of Comedy Bang! Bang! featuring special guest James Marsden, who is unfortunately unable to act out a tense scene when his acting partner is of the bunny variety. Apparently the real ones aren’t as easy to act with as we think! Check out the rest on IFC tomorrow night at 10:30pm.

One major geek-tastic title that was seemingly absent from Comic-Con this year was HBO’s upcoming sci-fi drama Westworld. There was no panel, no massive poster covering a hotel, no branded pedicabs.

But on Saturday, executive producer Jonathan Nolan decided to show a surprise trailer for Westworld during the panel for his other show—CBS’ Person of Interest.

The trailer will not be posted online, but HBO did release some photos, below. The pics include first looks at stars James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Anthony Hopkins, Jeffrey Wright and Ed Harris in the series version of Michael Crichton’s 1973 techno-thriller about androids run amok at a fantasy-fulfilling theme park.
